People are seen in the order they arrived, not the order their condition demands.
What happens today
A paper queue cannot rank itself. A child in respiratory distress waits behind a routine review because the register has no way to say which is which, and no one at the desk can see the whole room at once.
The sickest patients wait the longest, and nobody finds out until it is late.
What replaces it, step by step
On the platformCheck-in assigns acuity, triage derives RED / YELLOW / GREEN from ETAT vitals, and the live queue sorts itself by urgency.
Check in against the record
Arrival is logged on the patient's record, so the room is a list rather than a crowd with no order.
Take vitals at triage
Weight, temperature, pulse, respiratory rate and oxygen saturation are entered at the triage station.
Derive acuity from ETAT
The system applies ETAT criteria to those vitals and assigns RED, YELLOW or GREEN rather than leaving the judgement to whoever is at the desk.
Let the queue re-sort itself
The live queue orders by acuity and waiting time, and the whole room is visible on one screen to the clinician in charge.
